Landscape photographer
Andy Lock’s distinctly individual style of photography is
often compared to a painting. Just as an artist remains in one place
to absorb the detail and essence of their surroundings, so Andy’s
images portray his emotional response to nature. An ability to capture
in detail the changing light painted over our landscapes and the
vibrant mood of each season, as if delivered by an artists brush.
To own a ChangingLight image is to own a piece of art, with a depth
and emotion not always captured through the lens.
Andy Lock lives far away from his Dorset roots in the
highlands of Scotland’s West Coast. Captivated by its stunning
landscape of lochs and mountains it remains an inspiration for much
of his work. He studied at Southampton College of Art in England
providing his first introduction to photography and film. This led
him on his path of graphic design and print, while still providing
an opportunity to enjoy the challenges of nature through his landscape
photography.
Today his 1966 VW Split Screen Camper Van takes him
into the depths of our countryside, shooting just some of the artistic
images shared on this website. His work continues to inspire and
nurture our love of timeless and stunning landscapes.
